~Manatee Park and Ft.Myers Beach~

The other day we went to Manatee Park in search of more manatees.

It was a lovely hot day and another chance at a wonderful field trip!  The water was so warm in the Gulf that the manatee did not "need" to come into the canal area - this meant.......not many manatee for us to see - aahh!   There were a few, but the water was very dark so we had a real hard time seeing them.   We did see lots of tarpon fish though and had a nice walk through the park.

We had an interesting talk on Manatees while sitting under the beautiful oak tree with Spanish moss.
Next on to lovely Fort Myers Beach.   We were there in the afternoon and it was mid-week and it was packed!
We had SUCH a great walk on the beach.  We collected shells, did a whole lot of people watching and waded in the waves.
The sand was SO soft - it felt like white flour.
It was quite a windy day so there were lots of waves.
Another wonderful  afternoon at the beach :)
