~"Lion Country Safari" - Part 2~

Well.....just like the brochure said we woke up to lions roaring !!!  How cool is that???  Then all these beautiful ibis birds came flying down into the park and Shae and Brad ended up feeding them.
We began our day driving through the safari part again, as we had enjoyed it so much the day before.   The animals were much quieter in the morning so it was a good thing we decided to do it the night before as well. The park has an amusement park section as well, so after the safari we headed here for the rest of the day.

This part of the park is a bit like a "zoo" and has many different animals as well that we enjoyed looking at.
It also had some rides that were a bit young for our family but hey......we still enjoyed them none the less!!

We finally got to try out the paddle boats.   The kids have been wanting to do this for some time now, so it was great that they had them there for us to use.

Next off to the Ferris Wheel which had a great view of the safari park as well as the KOA campground where we stayed.  We all enjoyed this ride except...................
guess who??   Look down on the bench below!!!   :)
Then off to these awesome slides.  We were each given sacks and had races down to the bottom.  HILARIOUS!   We did this several times as the park was quiet.
They had wonderful shows too.   They had a training show and they showed us how they train different birds, turtles, iguanas to obey commands etc....   Later in the day we were able to go to another show with trained animals.

 Too cool!!

We were given a wonderful, informative talk on flamingos.   The staff at the park were SO good with all the animals and very good at speaking too.
Nasty - these are 2 large Burmese Pythons!!!
We took a little boat ride around the islands in the park.   We were able to get a good view of the flamingos, monkeys, turtles and wading birds.
A spider monkey taking a stroll!
We had an incredible view of the giraffes.   People were feeding them and they were VERY close to us!!!

They also gave a talk on giraffes as well as showed us some training techniques they use on them.   All so interesting!   We did do an alligator talk as well in which they tried to give the alligators some exercise by hanging a chicken drumstick on a string and "bouncing" it over their heads.   They never did grab it, but they definitely did open their mouths wide and snap at it.  Cool!
We ended the day at the great splash pad!!!   We needed to cool off!

We came back to the rv park for a dip in the pool to end our wonderful day!
