~Everglades National Park~

A new day - another adventure!   This time we head to the Everglades National Park.  

We parked our van and trailer in the parking lot and these signs were all over the place !!!

These "beasts" apparently pick out the rubber from your car windows and rip the windshield wipers off !!!

We decided to do the "Anhinga Trail".   We didn't need to go to far to see the beauty.........again!

Just look at the beautiful colouring and detail.

Now....look at this!!!  There were more on the other side of the path too ............where were we supposed to walk???

We all went as quickly as we could  (without looking them in the eyes!!) and passed them and then decided that is seemed too risky to be that close to them, so promptly turned back!!  At one point we were about 2 feet away from them!!!   "They" say that they most likely wouldn't harm you.......BUT.......since all the brochures say that they can run 35 mph and can easily outrun you and  that we should stay at least 10ft away - we decided to be "safe"!!!                YIKES!!!!

We had several opportunities to watch the birds catching fish and then eating them - truly amazing!!!  This is a Great Blue Heron.

Don't know what type this is.....but super cute!

The kids earned 2 Junior Ranger badges during our visit to the Big Cypress and Everglades Park. 

What a grand adventure!!
