~ Coronado, California~

We just had the most amazing day!  Vic and Cathy managed to gather up 7 bikes for us so that we could all go cycling around Coronado Island.  We got to ride these ultra cool "beach cruisers" for the day :)

Cathy was our tour guide as we cycled around the city and showed us all the points of interest along the way.   Down-town San Diego is in the background.

This is the San Diego-Coronado Bridge.  It crosses over San Diego Bay and links San Diego with

Coronado.

Half way we stopped for "sodas" at this cute little cafe.

There was a lovely bike path right on the ocean and we had a great view of the beautiful "Hotel Del Coronado"

We enjoyed a lovely picnic in the park while waiting for the sun to set ( and to rest our weary legs!!)

We never tire of being at the beach :)

And there it is......stunning!

What a wonderful way to end our holiday down south.   Thanks Vic and Cathy for organizing such a special day for us :)

~Palms to Pines Highway & Good Friends~

Today we left Palm Desert and drove to Temecula driving the "Palms to Pines" Highway.

It was a steep drive up through the mountains with lots of twists and turns

We met up with our good friends Vic and Cathy again at their house.  Here we are enjoying a wonderful home cooked meal....thanks!

We spent a wonderful day in Oceanside, CA  walking around the wharf and all the quaint stores

It was SO much fun being down at the beach again.

We had a great fish and chips lunch while enjoying the lovely view of the harbour

We ended our day with a amazing dinner out with our good friends!  Thanks so much for spoiling us!!!!!

~More memories down south~

While at the pool one morning we ran into Scott's cousin Mary Grace and her husband Scott and we enjoyed spending time with them this week...starting with a pizza lunch at Costco!

It was fun getting to know Ron and Beth from Oregon throughout the past couple weeks. One evening they took Scott and I out to dinner and dessert, what at treat! We appreciate your kindness and generosity!!!

More "crafting" time with Beth :)  Thanks for all the fun times Ron and Beth! It was great meeting you both.

Scott and I did a small favour for a fellow in the grocery store, and we were totally surprised when he told us he owned the Subway across the street and wanted to treat us to lunch! We were not expecting that! It was so sweet:)

~A wonderful week full of friends~

We've had another lovely week here in California!

We had our wonderful friends Vic and Cathy join us once again for a couple days in Palm Desert. We ordered a pizza at Costco for lunch on the first day they arrived

All the girls went to "craft time" with one of our volleyball friends, Beth. She was a wonderful teacher, and we all had a great time!

We had such a lovely last couple weeks getting to know Melissa, from Ohio. We enjoyed lots of time by the pool, crafting evenings, and endless amounts of chatting and laughter :) Thanks for spoiling us with treats and for all the fun times!! 

We had the privilege of meeting up with some friends from our church back home and enjoying the day with them.
