While in Seaside we ventured out to Fort Clatsop for a few hours. We began by watching the movie in the Visitor Centre and then we enjoyed the great museum.
I am not so sure that they should be "hanging" off the monument!!Then off to the reconstructed fort. This is where Lewis and Clark spent the winter of December 1805-March 1806. Twenty-eight men lived in this small fort.
They had many animal skins hanging on all the beds.
Then we all went outside and this man showed us how to make candles out of beef fat! Needless to say they did NOT smell very good!! All very interesting though!
We then went on a hike through the woods to see the old canoes.
Apparently something was funny while saying "The Pledge"!! Another badge for the boys - yay!
