WOW- what an incredible couple of days we have had. We have been at Hopewell Rocks in New Brunswick on the Bay of Fundy. This is where the water rises 6 - 7 ft per hour up the coastline. It is amazing to watch. In coves you can actually see it climb the rocks. You have to time your visit with the tides. You have to be careful that you don't get "caught" when the tide is coming in or you will be stuck on the "emergency platform" for 6 hours or until the tide goes back out again. We arrived just after low tide and so were able to "walk on the ocean floor" going in and out of all the caves and coves. The scenery was unbelievable! By the time we had walked to the end and turned around again, some of the coves had already begun to fill in with water.
The park interpreter showed us some photos from years past of the erosion changes on the rocks and shoreline - quite incredible how it is all disappearing over time.
Once again - the ocean floor is muddy.
This is now high tide - not fully in yet, but you can still see how much it has changed with the water filling it all in.
We sat in the park to eat our lunch while we waited for the tide to change.
While we were eating our lunch Travis went into the trailer and informed us that a new "guest" was on the bed!!!! Here he is coming out - funny!!
Cool squirrel story guys!! Haha! ;D
