We had another great day! Today we explored the Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Site. This is a re-creation of an 18th century fortified French town. There are 50 buildings - barracks, dwellings, storehouses, officer's quarters, chapel, prison, bakery, forge etc..... All SO interesting. Costumed staff re-create the past at Louisbourg - very authentic and well done.
This is the main street.
This blacksmith was so skilled and showed us all how to make nails.
This is the "Cannon Firing" at the King's Bastion.
Wouldn't you like to use this bathtub??
Some of the servants!!!
Soldier's quarters. The soldiers had to share a bed just to stay warm in the winter.
After we had finished the fortress we made a slight detour and headed to Sydney, NS where we were able to see the largest fiddle in the world.
Daily discussion at our supper table, did you see where the Harpers have been!! So many neat places to visit. It is great you post these photos, we look forward to seeing them. VHDMDP
